In celebration of African creativity, vivo mobile brought together Trevor Stuurman and Sindiso Khumalo for a day’s photo shoot at the incredible Dorp Hotel in Cape Town.

Shooting on the vivo X50PRO, the top of the range mobile device from vivo, Trevor was able to capture a beautiful fashion editorial unpacking the story of sisterhood and sustainability around Sindiso’s award-winning collection.

Representation always matters. We cannot be what we cannot see. Growing up, there were very limited and almost no role models in the creative and visual art space. But now things are changing and it is so inspiring that I am too part of that change and movement.

Trevor Stuurman

Sindiso is a powerful storyteller and designer. I’ve been following her journey and work since my student years.

I feel that image-making is an ongoing conversation. We don’t have enough reinforcing and positive image-making of black people…With photography, we have the power to change that reality. I feel that it is my duty to champion and power that type of beauty. I want to show the world the power of creativity.
